The first Conrad resort in Mexico delivers overwater villas, a private beach, and the kind of service that makes leaving feel genuinely difficult.
There are very few places in Mexico where you can wake up to the sound of the Pacific directly beneath you. Conrad Punta de Mita is one of them. The resort opened as the first Conrad property in Mexico, and it arrives with the kind of considered design that the brand has become known for globally. Set on a private peninsula in Riviera Nayarit (roughly an hour north of Puerto Vallarta) the property occupies a stretch of coastline that manages to feel both remote and effortlessly connected. The Overwater Villas The overwater villas are the centerpiece of the property, and they earn the attention. Each villa extends over the resort's lagoon on a private deck, with a plunge pool, direct water access, and floor-to-ceiling glass that makes the Pacific the dominant feature of every room. The design is clean and contemporary; warm woods, neutral linens, and a restrained palette that lets the view do the work. The service throughout the stay was exceptional. The Conrad brand positions itself at the upper tier of Hilton's luxury portfolio, and the team at Punta de Mita delivers on that positioning consistently. Requests were anticipated rather than simply fulfilled. Dining and the Beach The resort's beach is private and genuinely beautiful; a crescent of soft sand with calm water that makes it suitable for swimming most of the year. The main restaurant, Codex, is worth a dedicated visit even if you're not staying at the property. The menu draws on the culinary traditions of the Riviera Nayarit region with a level of execution that would hold its own in any major city. Punta de Mita itself is a short drive from the resort and worth an afternoon. The town has maintained its character despite the development that has arrived in the surrounding area, good tacos, a central plaza, and a fishing pier that still functions as one. Practical Notes The nearest major airport is Puerto Vallarta (PVR), approximately 75 minutes by car. The resort can arrange private transfers. High season runs November through April; the shoulder months of May and October offer lower rates with largely similar weather. Book the overwater villas well in advance; availability is limited and demand is consistent.
